The Harp Guitar
My Harp Guitar was designed and built at the request of a good friend and customer, Frank Doucette. CLICK HERE to read Frank's excellent article at harpguitars.net.
The starting price for the harp guitar is $14,500 with mahogany back and sides and a very fine Italian spruce top. The tops that I have selected for these guitars are outstanding. The included case is a custom fit soft case from Colorado Case Company.
For harp guitar fans: I have two in the works right now. One for a customer and one I am planning to build for myself. If I can hang onto it longer than the last one, I hope to be able to join the throng for the annual performance of The Water is Wide. Visit harpguitars.net for updates on the Harp Guitar Gathering (HGG6) October, 2008 in Portland, Oregon.
I am proud to announce that the amazing Stephen Bennett, national (USA) Flatpicking Champion (1st place 1987) and National Fingerpicking Champion (3rd place 1985), has joined the Wingert family of players. Widely regarded as one of the worlds finest harp guitarists, Stephen Bennett has developed a highly melodic style that manifests itself in his original compositions and his arrangements of jazz, pop, and traditional tunes.
"My Kathy Wingert harp guitar is an instrument exquisite to behold and an absolute delight to play, both in terms of how it feels to play it and the sound that flows forth. The tone is fat and rich and round and full and sweet and strong all at the same time. Those qualities are consistent from the lowest sub-bass (tuned as low as an E one octave below the standard 6th string) all the way to the highest frets of the first string (which - thanks to the elegant cutaway - I can easily reach)!
I love this harp guitar and simply can’t stop playing it."
